All About Japan!

Triskel is currently offering primary schools an 8 week introduction to Japanese Art and Culture. The programme features classes in Japanese culture, origami, traditional arts and crafts and brush calligraphy. Our Japanese teacher Chika visits us every Tuesday and we always look forward to seeing her! She is teaching us all about her country. We have had fun making origami sumo wrestlers, hina dolls and carp fish which we have hung in our classroom.

Easter Egg Hunt

The School Council decided to organize an Easter Egg Hunt for the junior and senior infant classes. As this would involve 270 children, the council enlisted the help of Miss O’Brien’s fourth class for the event.

Having cleaned out some local shops of Easter treats, the council members dressed up in animal costumes. The little children were delighted to be escorted around the school grounds on the day by a senior class. They had to complete simple tasks involving hula hoops, skipping ropes, bean bags etc. For each task completed the children won a letter. When six letters spelling E-A-S-T-E-R were collected, the children received an Easter goodie bag.
