World War II Exhibition

Today we were visited by a World War II battle group. We saw military vehilcles including jeeps and motorbikes with sidecars. There were soldiers dressed in German and Allied uniforms. The soldiers had to carry lots of things in their kit such as a gun, a boot knife, a first aid kit and a shovel. They also carried cutlery, a metal plate, a primus stove and canned stew. They needed matches, spair laces, a sewing kit, soap and razor blades for shaving too. There were weapons of all shapes and sizes on display. Bengt from Germany told us about what it was like to be an eight year old boy during the war. It was a fascinating story.
