Response to Poetry

Stopping By Woods on a Snowy Evening

Whose woods these are I think I know,
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound's the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely, dark and deep.
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

Devastation for the Nation!

WORLD CUP QUALIFIER 09
Match Report by C. Begley

Last night Ireland played France and the prize was a trip to the World Cup Finals in South Africa. 25’000 people came to France to support Trap and his troops in Paris. Ireland came onto the pitch all guns blazing.

In the first half Ireland dominated possession and that all paid off as Duff pulled the ball back for Robbie Keane. he put the ball into the back of the net. Liam Lawrence, Kevin Doyle, Damien Duff, Kevin Kilbane, John O’Shea and Robbie Keane all played like heroes. As the half time whistle went the fans erupted with joy.

In the second half France gained confidence and pushed forward but Richard Dunne and Stephan St Ledger kept France at bay, all the way to the final whistle.

In the thirteenth minute of extra time France got a free kick and the ball came into the box. Thierry Henry handballed it twice and hit it onto William Gallas. He tapped it into the goal. Every Irish person was furious with the ref.

THE REF SHOULD HAVE GONE TO SPECSAVERS!

Book Week 2009

We studied the story of The Selfish Giant by Oscar Wilde. We made a recording of ourselves reading the story. We also responded to the story using many different writing genre such as report writing, narrative wriring, persuasive text, explanation texts and acrostic poems. We published our written drafts in the computer room.
